Regardless of your political leanings, I think we can agree that rural and small-town America made a statement last Tuesday. Consequently, I’ve found myself reflecting on these communities deeply and, as someone who has only lived in big cities, possibly for the first time.

A Glimpse of Different Experiences

In the wake of the election, it can be difficult to empathize those with different views than our own. But there’s power in seeking to understand each side.

The photo below accompanied an article in The New York Times about the American voting experience.

I’ve been looking at these photos and others and asking myself—what are their days like? What are their hopes? Their fears?
