Given that Cobra put Baffler rails on the F7 fairway, it’s not a huge surprise that the company would carry the design down to the oft-forgotten hybrid.

The story is essentially the same. The F7 hybrid’s dual rail system makes for a more consistent and versatile hybrid. Play it from the fairway, play it from the rough, play it from places from which you might not otherwise be able to play at all.

I’m not saying that a railed hybrid is for everyone, but if you’re one who frequently finds himself hitting from undesirable lies, the F7 absolutely will help.

Back, Centered CG

As you might expect given the location of the 18-gram weight, the F7 hybrid is a back CG design. It’s designed to launch high, although the MyFly8 adjustment system gives you plenty of trajectory-tweaking options.

A 455 steel face insert helps generate more speed… and presumably more distance.

Although worth noting - Cobra’s engineers have centered the CG in this design. That should make for a hybrid that plays nearly neutral. There's no pre-engineered draw bias (with the hosel in non-draw positions) and that should help reduce those nasty hooks that plague many of us with hybrids.

For those who actually do need a bit of draw bias, each of the three hybrid options (2-3, 3-4, 4-5) has three draw positions available in the middle of the loft range.

Note that, unlike the fairway, there is some overlap in loft ranges between the three clubs. For those who will take the time to go through a proper fitting (or spend the necessary time self-fitting), that overlap gives you just a bit of additional flexibility to experiment with different face angles at the same loft.

Longer and Smoother Shape

Aesthetically, the shape of the F7 hybrid (below, left) isn’t radically different than the F6. It’s slightly longer from front to back and overall has a bit softer curves. It’s neither large nor compact. It fits the bill nicely for those looking for a midsize hybrid with plenty of adjustability.
