On the day in which Callaway has announced a new version of the biggest, most forgiving iron in its current lineup, it should surprise only a fool that it has also announced the biggest most forgiving hybrid in its current lineup.

Seriously. You had to see this coming.

Behold the Big Bertha OS hybrid.

Yup, It's Big

Compared to everything else in the current Callaway catalog, the Big Bertha OS is bigger. It's longer from toe to heel, it's deeper, and it has a larger face. While technically it's a hybrid, its DNA isn't far removed from that of a fairway wood.

As you would expect from this particular spot in the Callaway lineup, Big Bertha OS is designed to promote ball speed with plenty of forgiveness, and high launch ta boot. You'll find this trio plays well together and is often labeled as Easy to Hit. Such is the case here.

Key Features

Here are a few other things you might find interesting about the Big Bertha OS hybrid.

Opti-Fit Hosel - Callaway's adjustability system allows for eight distinct loft and lie settings, which gives you the flexibility to make Big Bertha OS what you need it to be. My 2 cents: adjustability in a hybrid is grossly underappreciated.

Speed Step Crown - Let's be honest here. Given the length and footprint of a hybrid, Callaway's aerodynamic enhancing crown design isn't likely to offer any real performance benefits here, but it does create consistency across the metalwood lineup, and I suppose that counts for something.

Dual Runner Sole - A systems of rails and relief, Callaway's sole design helps create better turf interaction for more consistent shots.

Models for Women and Seniors - As with the irons, Callaway is offering an alternative version of the hybrids that feature lighter heads and more loft, which makes it easier for slower swing speed players to get the ball in the air. This is such a good (and obvious) idea.
