Yesterday, Miura Golf released a 10-minute, 3-chapter documentary that tells the inside story of the company from its origins to modern day. The story primarily focuses on what the company believes distinguishes it from everybody else in the golf industry.
The documentary, which features interviews with Shinei and Yoshitaka Miura, along with members of the Miura executive team, plays as equal parts tribute to company founder Katsuhiro Miura and storytelling for marketing purposes in the style pioneered by Titleist and modernized by Callaway.
As you’d expect, the story leans heavily on the Miura tradition and often leverages words like precision, craftsmanship, and meticulousness to tell the story of the brand. The obligatory comparison is drawn between Miura clubs and Samurai swords, before ending with the assertion that Miura is a step – perhaps a bit less, perhaps a bit more – ahead of the rest of the golf industry.
Have Your Say
Watch the video and let us know what influence it has on your perceptions of the Miura brand. Also, let us know what you think of this style of videos and whether or not you'd like to see more in the golf industry tell their stories in a similar fashion.
