Continuing what I suppose now qualifies as a tradition, PING has introduced a limited edition pink version of its G driver. The pink G, which is limited to 6,000 units, will also come with a Bubba Watson character headcover, and will retail for $600.
Before you get all worked up about the price, its imperative to note that for each of pink G drivers sold, PING will donate $60 to the Bubba Watson Foundation.
Charity is also part of the pink driver tradition.
Proceeds from the sale of the first pink driver (G20) were donated to the Phoenix Children's Hospital, where they were used to help build the Bubba Watson-PING Motion Analysis Lab, which helps evaluate and treat children and adolescents with movement disorders.
Proceeds from 2015's pink G30 were donated to the Pensacola, Florida, Childrens hospital, Sacret Heart (Bubba's birthplace), along with other children's charity's in the Pensacola area.
A pink shaft is also part of the package.
The pink G drivers are offered in 9º and 10.5º lofts for right-handed players and 10.5º only for left-handed players. Both are available in regular and stiff flexes.
About The Bubba Watson Foundation
The Bubba Watson Foundation, Inc was formed in January of 2014 by Professional Golfer Bubba Watson and his wife Angie to enhance their ability to help those in need. Consistent with the Watson's historical philanthropic activities, the Foundation's mission is to enhance the every-day lives of people in need with a particular emphasis on helping and inspiring children, young adults, and those associated with the U.S. Military. It is our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams while becoming productive and responsible members of society.
In furtherance of its charitable mission, the Foundation both supports existing organizations and administers programs of its own that enhance the physical, spiritual and social development of children, young adults and those associated with the U.S. Military.
